About the editor

Gareth Hollingsworth was raised in Leeds and spent six years auditing payment flows for UK-licensed gaming companies, checking how deposits, bonuses and withdrawals were processed against UK Gambling Commission rules. He has covered online casinos since 2015, with a focus on bonus terms, wagering requirements and real cash-out speeds for British players. Gareth funds every test account himself, logs each bonus he clears and each withdrawal he requests, and signs off every review on WelcomeBonusUK.sbs before it goes live.

Why we are called WelcomeBonusUK.sbs

The name says what the site is for: tested casino bonuses for UK players, kept up to date 24/7. A welcome package, a free spins offer or a deposit match is the first thing most players go looking for, and it is also where the gap between the headline and the fine print is widest. WelcomeBonusUK.sbs exists to close that gap: we read the terms, we do the wagering maths, we play the offer through and we cash out, then we publish what actually happened.

Everything on the site is organised around that idea, from our best online casino ranking and our free bonus guide to the online slots reviews, live casino testing and the payout speed measurements.

How we review

Every casino we cover is opened as a normal player account and funded with our own money. We verify the operator's UK Gambling Commission licence on the public register before anything else, then claim the welcome offer, play through it, request withdrawals and time how long they actually take, and contact support at different hours of the day and night. Scores are based on bonus terms, game selection, safety and licensing, withdrawal speed and support quality.

We only list operators licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. Bonus amounts, wagering requirements and payment methods change frequently. We re-check the operators we list monthly, but the operator's own terms and conditions always take precedence over anything published here.

Affiliate links

Some links on this website are affiliate links. If you click one and later register or make a transaction with the operator, the owner of this site may receive a commission. This costs you nothing extra and does not change the bonus you receive. Commercial arrangements have no influence on our ratings or on the order in which operators appear.
